2-10 HBW only accepts the best builders into their program. To become a member, Cothran Homes went through an extensive screening process that measures our building practices against underwriting guidelines to ensure we maintain a high quality product in addition to careful inspection of our workmanship.

In short, we build with high quality materials and maintain a pristine level of workmanship in order to provide each homeowner with the best warranty, and the very best home. So not only are things less likely to go wrong, if they do go wrong because of unforeseen problems — every home is covered.

Let’s break it down:

• 1 year of coverage on workmanship and materials. This means protection against defects in the roof covering, fireplace, cabinets, floors, drywall, and more.
• 2 years of coverage on distribution materials. You’re covered against defects in the wiring, piping, and ductwork in the electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. 
• 10 years of coverage on load-bearing components. This is a structural warranty covering catastrophic failure of the designated elements like roof-framing, walls, beams, foundation, etc.

When you purchase a new Cothran home, you'll receive a copy of the structural home warranty contract that explains what is covered, as well as a maintenance booklet to give you tips on how to care for your home. In addition, the warranty is fully-transferable, which increases the resale value of your home.
