Whether you’re already moved into your Cothran home or you’re ready to purchase one (we can’t wait to meet you!), these ideas will get you inspired to enjoy the wintertime in true comfort and style.    What fireplace design trends are we seeing today?In addition to the fun surrounds and wall applications that create eye-catching focal points in a home, we are also seeing more clean line fireplace inserts, no hearths, and different mantel styles being used than the usual traditional styles from the past.      What are a few design tips to keep in mind?When designing your fireplace and selecting the right mantel, surround, and wall treatment, it’s good to keep the design aesthetic of your home in mind. These products should enhance and complement your interior design style and add to the existing flow that already exists throughout.  Are there any safety concerns?   Most importantly, choose materials that are safe for use around your fireplace with proper heat resistant capabilities.      What can we expect from Cothran Homes in 2020?We have exciting things for your fireplace design! In select new home communities, we’ll be offering materials like stone, shiplap, and brick. The aesthetic of natural-looking stone and floor-to-ceiling shiplap or brick adds something special to your living room. Modern looks are also desirable, including large contemporary tile and geometric decorative tile.      It’s a little chilly outside, but it’s nice and warm inside your cozy Cothran home.
