Fall Decor Ideas With Paige

October 7, 2020

Bright leaves, festive scents, cooler weather… it’s finally the best season of all! If you’re like us, you wait all year for the chance to add fall flair to your home, whether it’s a classic pumpkin, spiced candles, or a fall-colored centerpiece. We sat down with our design coordinator, Paige, to discuss some of her favorite ideas for autumnal home design — take a look and get inspired to turn your home into the fall haven you’ve always wanted!

Fall Home Decor Tips

All about the patio. Pumpkins, gourds, clustered corn husks, potted chrysanthemums, hay bales, and falling leaves. Add a few or all the above to your outdoor space and you’ll be ready to enjoy all the beautiful colors this season has to offer!   Fall Decor Tips

It doesn’t have to be orange. If you’re looking to do some interior fall decorating and orange, rust, and brown just aren’t your thing, no need to worry. Use neutral, organic items like green, cream, and white gourds with pinecones, and sprigs of eucalyptus. Display them as a table centerpiece, on your favorite tiered cake platter in the kitchen, or across the mantel to get you in the mood.   Just a little hint. Looking to add just a bit of seasonal flair into your home? Try decorating your foyer or entry. Place seasonal items on your entry table like a scented spiced candle, replace your key bowl or tray with one in a seasonal color, and add a basket with blanket or layer with branches and leaves to complete the look.   Fall Decor Tips   Fireplace mantel time. Layering can be tricky. I recommend having a focal point like the window frame in this picture and go from there. Work from the back of the wall out, adding wreaths, candle clusters, and vases filled with branches, and drape items off the mantel like these lovely wood beads with fringe, which help bring the eye down to your decor below. Make sure you have balanced items on both the left and the right and voila, your beautiful fall mantel is complete.   Looking for easy. A few of my favorite go-to’s for fall decor are cozy blankets and throw pillows. And you don’t have to spend a lot either. Go to your favorite discount home furnishing store and look for 2 or 3 pillows in your favorite fall colors or with a fun fall motif, toss them on your sofa with a cozy blanket to match, and you’re good to go. Not only will it look stylish, but that cozy blanket will come in handy on those chilly fall nights.   Fall Decor Tips   Love to entertain. Add some of our favorite fall elements to your bar or table top decor. Fall decorating to me is all about bringing the outdoors in and displaying seasonal foliage, veggies, and fruits in creative ways. Fill bowls with small apples, kumquats, and cinnamon sticks and place on the bar for your guests to use in signature cocktails. Use wood charges under plates, bring out the Moscow Mule copper mugs to add that coppery sparkle, and use cut greenery with twine as napkin ring holders to create the perfect woodland festive fall feel.   Whether you choose one of our gorgeous move-in-ready homes in South Carolina or decide to build the floor plan of your dreams, our design coordinator, Paige, will ensure that your home suits your preferences perfectly. As you look ahead to a fresh start in 2021, get inspired by a few of Paige’s favorite fall trends of the year!
