A Look Back at 2018: Where We Are, Where We’re Going

December 19, 2018

The past year has been a busy one for Cothran Homes. The Greenville area has continued to grow and welcome newcomers. With so any people embracing the quality of the lifestyle here, we’ve been actively building and expanding communities of new homes and townhomes to present stylish and affordable choices. Before we launch into a new year, the Cothran Homes team wanted to take a look back at 2018. It’s a good time to look at where we are and see where we’re going from here. The Retreat comes to SimpsonvilleIn the summer, we launched a new community of single-family homes in Simpsonville. The Retreat lives up to its name. The wooded area surrounding the neighborhood enhances the feeling of privacy, although the location is just a short drive from I-85 and I-385. The Shops at Greenridge are a few minutes away from The Retreat, so it’s easy to get what you need, whether that’s groceries or a night out. We’ve included 44 homesites here, so The Retreat will be a small, quiet place to live—with minimal traffic. We’re taking advantage of the natural surroundings and incorporating green spaces and walking trails. The homes, which range from 1,900 to 2,600 square feet of interior living space, are designed to give you a relaxed lifestyle. Low-maintenance exteriors and no-maintenance yards mean more time to enjoy the better things in life!Construction at The Retreat is well underway. We already have some move-in ready homes available:6 Cromarty Lane, 1,900 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, $345,9808 Cromarty Lane, 1,900 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, $352,38017 Cromarty Lane, 1,900 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, $335,850Cothran Homes is offering an additional incentive to buy these homes in 2018. When you sign the contract to purchase no later than December 31, 2018, we’ll include $6,000 in bonuses with our “Use As You Choose” offer. Take a break from December’s festivities and reward yourself with a new home and $6,000 worth of extras, too!Hot Greenville marketThose of us who have spent a long time living in Greenville appreciate all the benefits of this great South Carolina city. But apparently our secret is out. In September, USA Today announced its list of the fastest growing housing markets in the U.S. Greenville ranked #25, in the company of such robust regions as Seattle, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Phoenix. What makes Greenville so appealing? The Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin housing market has rebounded from the recession. Housing values are healthy (almost 10% increase over the past year) and the job market is thriving (3% unemployment rate)—excellent signs of a strong economy here. Meanwhile, our region still boasts affordable housing. And these facts encourage others to move here. The economy isn’t the only attraction. Greenville offers a diverse selection of activities all year long. The Greenville nightlife is particularly lively, with everything from fine dining to theatre, concerts, and clubs.Cothran Homes builds communities all around this region, so if you want to get in on a not-so-well-kept secret, take a look at our homes and townhomes.Dorchesters return to The Townes at BrookwoodOur townhome communities have become well-known in the area for the quality construction and features. One of the most popular Cothran Homes floor plans is the Dorchester. Homebuyers love how the layout flows beautifully and that we’ve maximized every bit of the 2,090 square feet. This design provides a first-floor owners suite, a desirable feature for many townhome buyers. These homes present an open concept so the kitchen, dining area, and living room have distinctive spaces but without walls that minimize them. Cothran Homes also focused on the energy efficiency of the Dorchester townhomes, including dual-zoned HVAC.We began construction on two Dorchester townhomes in The Townes at Brookwood, and expect them to be completed in May 2019. Prices start at $219,700. Located in Simpsonville (and a short drive from Greenville), the community is gated and the homes are maintenance-free. Get a closer look with a virtual tour. If you like what you see, talk to us about the Dorchester townhomes that will soon be available at The Townes at Brookwood.A look aheadWe’ve seen a lot of activity in our neighborhoods. There’s only one townhome left  at The Townes at Thornblade in Greer. The Reserve at Asheton Lakes is in its last phase of completion and only a few homes remain. We will continue to offer unique opportunities in our communities while exploring new ones. Don’t let 2018 end without checking out our “Use As You Choose” offer on currently available new construction homes and townhomes. This type of value rarely comes along.Contact Cothran Homes to take the next step toward making 2019 spectacular!
